FOOD SUSTAINABILITY INDEX 2017 – GLOBAL EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The first edition of the Food Sustainability Index – drafted by The Economist Intelligence Unit in conjunction with the Barilla Foundation and published in 2016 – ranks 25 countries according to the sustainability of their food system. In the 2017 edition, The Economist Intelligence Unit added nine new countries, seven from the Mediterranean basin (Greece, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, and Tunisia), plus Hungary and Sweden.
